Many Americans are relying on emergency unemployment benefits since the recession has made them need emergency cash loans. Extending benefits has been a huge debate since employers aren’t hiring like the government would like them to be right now. The website FluidNow, or www.fluidnow.com, is a website where more than 100,000 residents of Florida who are considered to be “long-term” jobless can get additional benefits. FluidNow seems to be not so fluid for some although numerous claim they have used the website just to have their expired benefits restarted again.
FluidNow is too slow
An unemployed in Florida explained the fluidnow helpline number is 800-204-2418, and if you call that number, evidently a “call back later” message that was pre recorded is always the response. An AWI representative answered the phone after hours of trying just to inform the unemployed individual that there was no information on whether or not an extension of benefits could possibly be received. There was a little bit of a response when AWI Director Cynthia Lorenzo explained the U.S. Department of Labor used to send guidance to the company, but those who qualified will be receiving the payments they need. Evidently the time frame of the guidance changed so often that it could possibly be any time really.
EUC Fix fixes every little thing
Taking a loan from a loan company or signing up for a part-time job are among the only opportunities open to many job seekers. This won’t even pay for all the bills often times. Plus, there’s fear the benefits already being received would shrink upon signing up for part-time work. There could possibly be some hope with the Emergency Unemployment Compensation Fix. The emergency unemployed benefits are part of the extension that Congress passed most recently, according to Michigan’s MLive.com. Apparently this is designed to “remove the disincentive for individuals who take part-time jobs while collecting benefits.” Benefits will extend through year two for unemployed, reports the Michigan News portal.
EUC Fix can’t help anyone from before it was applied
The National Employment Law Protection explains the EUC Fix can only work if your benefits ended after July 22, 2010. If you aren’t in that window of opportunity, you won’t get any extra benefits. Discover more information about the EUC Fix at the National Employment Law Project website.
